How Much Does a 3 Carat Lab-Grown Diamond Ring Cost?

I've been researching 3 carat lab-grown diamond rings lately, and one thing I noticed is that the prices can vary quite a bit. If you're shopping for one, the carat weight alone doesn't tell you what the final ring will cost.

In 2026, a complete 3 carat lab-grown diamond ring can commonly fall somewhere around $2,500–$5,000+, depending on the diamond quality, setting, and metal. Some retailers list complete 3 carat rings around $2,400–$3,600, while premium specifications or more elaborate settings can push the price higher.

What Makes the Price Different?

The biggest factor is the diamond itself. Two 3 carat lab-grown diamonds can have very different prices because of:

  • Cut quality – A well-cut diamond generally has better sparkle and light performance.
  • Color – D–F color diamonds usually cost more than G or lower grades.
  • Clarity – VS1/VS2 can offer a good balance between appearance and price.
  • Diamond shape – Round, oval, radiant, emerald, pear, and marquise can have different pricing.
  • Certification – An IGI or GIA grading report can help you verify the diamond's specifications.
  • Ring setting – A simple solitaire is generally less expensive than a halo or elaborate pavé design.
  • Metal – 14K, 18K gold, and platinum will all affect the final price.
