The software I run needs to have a registry change to be excluded from the Data Execution Prevention list.
How do I proceed? If I install the software, I get an error message when executing it. Running in a separate AZURE WIndows Server I found the registry change I need to have.
I intend to pay for the services if I can get a specific support for this matter.
After some research, I managed to create a virtual machine in Azure and there I was able to remove the DEP setup from Windows Server, so the application can be executed in a WIndows 2012 server. Once it was removed the DEP (the same as putting the registry I mentioned in the earlier post), I am now able to use the application.
You can see it at https://online.cameyo.com/apps/636092232718178470/play?server=cloudspider8506.cloudapp.net for the next few days and if you try to run it directly in CAMEYO without calling my Azure server, the application will NOT run.
Can someone from business/commercial write to me so I can setup a paid account and have this issue solved?
If the package will not run because of Data Execution Prevention, the unvirtualized DEP settings need to be adjusted, i.e. at the real system level, not at the virtual system level. By hosting your own Play Server, you can control this, whether it's changing DEP for all non-essential Windows programs or just individual exceptions.
I did manage to make it work in Azure. It seems that their virtualized machine actually accepts this configuration I needed.
I would like NOT to use Azure and hire only one provider. But I will see what are the general conditions to use both services for what I need (Azure + Cameyo)
I am finally testing the application and so far I am very happy with it. I plan to create a Pro account soon.
