I tried to use Cameyo for visual studio web developer express 2005. After waiting about half a hour when cameyo created preprocessing snapshot, then installing express edition, and waiting about a hour to make the postprocess snapshot I almost lost the hope to have the process to end. Indeed I have seen another label that packages already making the package itself. Meantime the system hanged up, but revitalizated in several minutes. Them i eventually got promt that portable vs wd was created in folder something like this: C:\User\Documents\Cameyo app\ When I moved there i have seen empty folder so without any portable app? What happened? Where it was lost? Maybe it was saved something else?
I have never read about this provision in the net. Should I understand that i need some kind of fresh virtual machine? For instance, Micro-windows xp?// But anyway the message about creation of package appeared, after about hour of processing??
If you are planning to use the package on XP, then you should use a VM with nothing but XP on it to create the package. In general, you want to build on the oldest OS that will use the Cameyo app, e.g. if you plan to deploy your package on Win7, Win8.1, and Win10, you would want to build on Win7.
Using a clean VM produces the best results.
I have never heard of a package disappearing after it was built the way you described. Perhaps your security software flagged and quarantined it. It is not rare for anti-malware programs to label virtualized apps, Cameyo and others, with false positives.
Can I try the second attempt for cameyo package at the same machine after uninstalling vs express? Can I use minimal microXP for building cameyo packages?
It is recommended to use a clean system that has never had any software installed. Using a machine that has programs currently or previously installed can yield unpredictable results.
If your %temp% directory contains a folder named CameyoPackager, I can look at it for you. Zip the folder, upload it to a file-hosting site, and advise the URL where it can be downloaded. Please use a site that does not force the downloader to jump through hoops. WeTransfer is easy on the uploader and downloader; email to yourself and post the URL. Still, the best way is to set up a clean virtual machine and build your package there. For smaller packages, you can use our Online Packager.
MicroXP is not supported. I do not know if the packages would work for you or not.
When Cameyo was developed, it was not designed for--nor was it tested on--MicroXP. It might work, it might not. We cannot answer any of your questions about MicroXP.
But you said that it does not work in advance. So can you check if work with micro xp? For me it is to complex procedure to be without reliable internet (just mobile one) and a few space on disk.
I said that MicroXP is not supported, meaning that Cameyo developers did not test with MicroXP, nor will issues that are unique to the unsupported system be addressed. I do not know if Cameyo will work with it. That does not mean it will not. It means that we do not know. For best results, we recommend building your packages on a clean VM of your target OS.
