Hello. Using Cameyo, i went through the steps of installing a software to make it portable. After installation, i tried the portable version and it worked. I had to enter "Name/Serial" to use it. After using it, i exited then restarted it. No problem. I didn't have to re-enter the Name/Serial. I then made a copy of it to my flash drive. I plugged it into my other computer and opened the "portable" software. Again, I had to enter the Name/Serial. After doing so, i closed it then reopened it. Again, no problem. Isn't the "Name/Serial" stored in the computer instead of in the portable software ? The reason i assume it is, is because after installing the software and converting it to "portable", I opened the portable version, entered the Name/Serial. I then "Uninstalled" the installation of the software. I then opened the portable version and had to re-enter Name/Serial, because it was removed when the installation of the software was uninstalled. Please explain. tks.
1. During the capture process, did you enter Name/Serial before the post-installation snapshot?
Answer: I could not enter the Name/Serial "before" the post-installation snapshot. I entered it after and the portable worked fine. When i put a copy of it on my flash drive and wanted to use it on my laptop, i have to enter the Name/Serial.
2. Had the software ever been installed on Computer 2?
No.
Something i am doing wrong? Thanks for any help. tks.

I capture many installations, and I always enter the license before completing the capture. For most, the capture includes the license and will work on other computers. A significant number of times, however, the license is only on the original computer and is not included in the capture. To use those captures on a different computer, I enter the license each time I run the capture on a different computer. I now routinely save a text copy of the license so I can easily find it later when I will need it. Hope that helps.
