I've been dealing the last couple of days with a real headache, hoping trying the help of the forums will solve this problem:
I have been trying to create a portable version of Adobe InDesign CC 2014 (let's put aside the licensing question).
The components I am using are:
VMWare Workstation 10 as the virtual machine platform, Windows 7 64 bit with 2 GB of ram (as required by InDesign), installation files for Adobe InDesign CC 2014 & Cameyo.
After starting Cameyo, taking a snapshot, installing InDesign and proceeding with Cameyo a single .exe file is generated. On my first attempt to run this file (as Administrator) the virtual Windows crashes, and I'm getting the Blue Screen of Death. After a reboot to the virtual Windows I try to run the exe file once again, without Admin rights, and prompted to choose between 2 programs to run. I choose "Adobe InDesign CC 2014" and InDesign indeed starts, seeming to work fine and dandy.
The real problem starts here: when I transfer the file from the virtual environment to my regular desktop the app (which now have the right InDesign icon) doesn't even start. Instead I am prompted with a message stating that "InDesign had stopped working". When clicking on the "View problem details" tab one somewhat interesting piece of information are given: "Problem Event Name: APPCRASH" & "Fault Module Name: StackHash_4a91".
