I never used Cameyo apps before. I downloaded these three apps but i have problems when i try to run them. For Dropbox it gives me connection error. For Paint.NET it gives me runtime error even so i have Microsoft Visual C++ installed. For GOM player when i start it it gives me this error:
GR Launcher
Parameter Error

Can someone explain me why i am getting these errors?

Thanks!

Hello Emil9216,

1. Paint.NET and GOM Player
Please use Package Editor to change these packages' Virtualization from RAM to Disk mode.  Documentation here.

2. Dropbox
The connection error sounds as if the package doesn't have unblocked access to the Internet.  Additionally, you will find it more convenient to use if you edit the package to give Full access to the location above the Dropbox folder, e.g. %Profile% if default location of Dropbox folder is accepted (C:\Users\[username]\Dropbox on Win7)--this is a location that is assigned when you launch the package.  %Profile% on Win7 is C:\Users\[username].  Please see the link above for instructions on editing the package to give Full access under Files section.  Without granting Full access to the Dropbox folder, clicking Dropbox Folder through the virtualized application will give a Location is not available error, and you will have to drill down through the sandbox to access your files.

I did all recommended settings and now for Dropbox now it shows  that the dropbox folder is missing.

For Paint.NET it is trying to repair the visual C++ install every time i start the program.

It is not working.

1. Dropbox
Is the message you are getting "Location is not available / [Dropbox folder] refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location," or are you getting a different message?

Do you have files already uploaded to your Dropbox account?  If so, does the Dropbox icon in the system tray show "Up to date"?

2. Paint.Net
Hmm, I get that message only when Virtualization is in RAM mode but not when in Disk mode.  Please try running package with -Remove parameter and relaunching after receiving Success message.

I managed to make Dropbox working. I delete the dropbox files in \AppData\Roaming\VOS and made the setting again. I select a location for dropbox folder in E:\Dropbox. When i started DropBox.cameyo.exe it synchronized the files and also dropbox upgraded by itself to the last version 2.6.25, which i don't know it is the right way to upgrade Dropbox created with cameyo.
I have another question. I placed DropBox.cameyo.exe in E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable. How can i move the dropbox source files in the same folder?

For Paint.NET i run the file with -remove parameter, then i started the program and it showed an error: There was an unhandled error and Paint.NET must be closed. It generated error log file: pastebin.com/TcfBafH2

What OS, service packs, and architecture are you using the packages on, e.g. Win7 SP1 x64?

Is your E drive a USB flash drive, or is it a different HDD/partition?

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x32. I am using the application locally, on my hard disk, not on USB flash drive.

I'm sorry, Emil9216, there is a problem with using a virtualized package on Win7 x86.  I had tested it on XP SP3 x86 and Win7 SP1 x64, and it launches smoothly on these two systems, but after reading that you're using Win7 SP1 x86, I tested there and reproduced your unhandled error.  This will require further investigation.  No eta is known at this time.

As far as your question of moving source files, are you referring to the sandbox, i.e. the Dropbox directory in %AppData%\VOS?

Yes, for Dropbox my question is about moving the files that are in %AppData%\VOS.

1. In E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable, create a new folder named DropBox.cameyo.files

2. Copy contents of DropBox directory in %AppData%\VOS to E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable\DropBox.cameyo.files--the contents, not the DropBox folder itself, so your DropBox.cameyo.files folder should contain three folders and several files directly in it, NOT a single DropBox folder.

3. Open E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable\DropBox.cameyo.exe in Package Editor

4. Change Data storage from Default to Under the Executable's directory

5. Save package

6. Run E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable\DropBox.cameyo.exe.

7. Once you are satisfied that E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable\DropBox.cameyo.exe is working the way the original package did, exit the package and delete the DropBox directory in %AppData%\VOS.

For future reference, you can delete the sandbox of a package using -Remove parameter.  Documentation here.  Don't use it with E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable\DropBox.cameyo.exe because it will delete the sandbox in E:\PortableApps\DropboxPortable\DropBox.cameyo.exe\DropBox.cameyo.files instead of the sandbox in %AppData%\VOS.
