Java-based apps: Error in title bar
Permalink

Hi,

I am using Cameyo 2.0.882.  I tried to create a package of the Aris Express. The Ghost Capture works perfeclty for this application. It has JRE included in the install package.

The only problem I found that when I run the application, only the first letter is displayed in the title bar of all windows.

I had an other JAVA application that I installed and I had the same issue. As I remember I had JRE included in the package there as well.

Has anyone else faced this issue? Is there any solution?

Hello szucsati,

Thank you for your valid bug report.  The developer will take a look at it.  Since it appears to be "cosmetic," the fix will be prioritized appropriately.

It seems this happens when the installer includes the Java runtime.  If the runtime isn't included in the installer but a java installation is captured by Cameyo, the title bar displays the complete text.  I was able to test this with an application that had two installers, one for systems that already have java installed and one for systems that did not.  I also tested it by deleting the jre directory from %Program Files%\ARIS Express\client and replacing it with jre7 directory that is installed with java 7u17 and renaming it to jre.

Caveat: I don't know if there is anything included in the jre directory installed by ARIS that is needed for the program.  For example, I found that I had to also capture Visual C++ redistributable for ARIS to launch if I replaced the java runtime folder with the folder installed by the current java.
