Automating snapshots
Permalink

Hello,

Is there a way to automate the process of doing the pre and post snapshots?

I'd like to, by command line tell cameyo to snapshot the system, then install my application, then tell cameyo by command line to take the second snapshot. Once this is done I'd like to either by command line, ini file, etc... be able to configure the newly created package for start exe's, where to get its icon, etc...

Thanks

-Cory

New build 2.0.882. It is now online and you can download it. It allows to fully automate the SaveSnapshot / LoadSnapshot process. More information here.

Might be someting silly that I'm doing but even using the packager noting is changing.

Here are my steps:
1) Use the new -SaveSnapshot feature on a clean VM

2) Install my application

3) Use the -LoadSnapshot to create my new package

4) use the following Syntax to make certain modifications:

   Cameyo.exe -Quiet -SetProperties:AutoLaunch="My exe's">>exe name

All of this works well until I get to:

Setting the internal name

FileVersion

Publisher

and, of course IconfFile.

I tries using Packager.exe but had the exact same results of a success message but no actual change to the package.

You can do this by running Packager.exe from Cameyo's directory, with the -SetProperties: directive. For example:
Packager.exe "-SetProperties:Publisher=something something" "c:\my apps\app.cameyo.exe"

Remember to quote ("") for parameters that have space.

With regards to the icon, this can only be changed manually.

As per our private discussion, making sure your installer creates a shortcut is the best way to indicate to Cameyo the main executable. Then, icon, Windows exe properties (version, publisher, description), will automatically be taken from it.
