I would like to get more info about this: Is there a way Cameyo allows me to choose the user (On the server) i run a Virtualized app with? I see on "Users" folder it shows RemoteUser1,2,3 and so on. Of course, the users I have added to the machine through Control Panel are shown as well. I would like to choose the user that runs the app on the browser. Is that possible?
Hi, I've got a newly-installed Play Server (no Domain Server or Active Directory) to which I've added a Windows user with the same username and password as the user on the client Windows system I'm using. I sill seem to be using the RemoteUserX accounts.
Has this feature been implemented? How does one take advantage of it? How can I tell which user I'm actually connected as?
It has not been implemented yet. In the meantime, you can add a server-side command to runas, e.g. runas /user:chuck "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe"
Although Cameyo users with admin access are free to add local users to their servers, Cameyo Server was designed with security and low user maintenance in mind, which can be defeated by manually adding and connecting as custom users.
Is there a specific reason why you wish to connect as a custom user?
Our app is a database application that requires some pre-configuration of a third-party database connector. This config, unfortunately, lives in the user-specific registry hive. When we connect through the browser and Play Server, the RemoteUserX users don't have this info and so can't connect to the DB, and we can't launch other apps to add/import this info (unless there's some way I don't know of to get to a "Run" option?). We also can't log in normally as RemoteUserX because I don't know the password and I assume changing it would prevent Cameo from being able to use that user. If I can specify a user that I've logged in as and configured manually or imported the requisite registry keys for, then this would solve that problem.
The "runas" option does work, but it would be nice to be able to add various configured items to the user accounts being used (and I suspect that's really a Windows Terminal Services/Remote Desktop" configuration issue that's simply a result of my relative inexperience with Windows RDS).
Thanks for your time!

Connect as Admin from your server page. Create this directory: C:\UserTemplate\AnyUser\%Profile%. Export whatever registry keys you want provisioned to RemoteUserX to C:\UserTemplate\AnyUser\%Profile%\hkcu.reg
Additionally, any files and folders in C:\UserTemplate\AnyUser\%Profile%\ will also provision to RemoteUserX.
