Free cloud server offer: Keeps creating US server despite choosing Europe location

Dear forum users,

I'm trying to make use of the Free cloud server offer.

While creating a server you get the option where to base the server.

These are the options (see screenshot):

Europe
US east
US central
US west
Asia north-east
Asia south-east
Asia east
Australia

Despite choosing Europe as a location to create the server it keeps creating a server in "Mountain View" US west region.

Does anyone encountered this before or could someone from tech assist me?

Although the IP address appears to originate in Mountain View, the physical server does actually reside in the location you choose.

In which country and datacenter does the Europe based servers physicaly reside?
