The current lack of any apparent order makes it impossible to browse enjoyably from the main public page. Even after login, and selecting a categorical view, there are too many apps in several categories to just "see what's there". By "browsing," I mean looking at products without any specific need or title in mine, but being open to the possibility that something will "catch one's fancy." It's the same basic activity that almost everyone has done at a grocery store. People would lose interest quickly if the store was so disorganized that it had neither shelves nor aisles, and a package of cake mix might be right next to a can of beans, which is next to . . . .
I propose that the main page (accessed without login) offer a choice of "view by category" and "view alphabetically by app name." Choosing "view alphabetically" would further offer the standard options of ascending or descending alpha order. After choosing "view by category," users should find the apps arranged alphabetically as well, and given the choice of ascending or descending order.
