Is it possible to package 3ds Max? I packaged it up and when I try to open it on another computer I get "The software license failed to initialize. Error 10" Is it just not possible to package a program like this that requires activation and serial # or did I do something wrong? I am using Cameyo 2.0.832 and the program I am trying to package is 3DS Max 2012. It was packaged on Windows Vista 64 and I was trying to run it on Windows 7 64.
I'm not sure why you think it's illegal to put software that you legally own onto a flash drive. It doesn't seem to me that it is license breaking.
Anyway, I'm trying to do the same thing with Softimage 2012, a program that I LEGALLY own. It's a 3D modeling program like 3ds Max and I'm having similar issues.
It works just fine when I install it regularly on my netbook. It even works fine when I run the cameyo file on the same netbook. But when I test the flash drive out on my desktop, it keeps giving me different errors. Sometimes liscencing errors, sometimes other ones.
What "anonymous" is saying is that there's probably some license protection mechanism which may be incompatible with application virtualization (some apps lock themselves into the specific machine they're installed on, against illegal copying).
