I tred editing a virtual file to change the icon to an icon image in a small ICO file. Cameyo refused, and gave a message that says I must select an EXE file for Cameyo to extract an ICO image from. I have only the icon image in an ICO file. It would be helpful if the next version of Cameyo would permit using an icon image when changing the icon.
Admittingly, I've heard this request before already. And admittingly it turned out to be kinda difficult when I tried allowing this (you wouldn't believe how bad Microsoft's APIs are, when it comes to ICO manipulation). But be assured that note is taken of your request :)
have you tried changing the file extension of the .ico to ".exe" if that dosent work create a self extracting archive with the icon (i used win rar) download resource editor from http://melander.dk/reseditor/ and run the exe load the self extracting archive in the resources pane, expand icon click the icon with the lowest number in the variants pane remove all but one of the variants in the variant pane right click in the empty space now click add from file open your icon remove the leftover icon now save and exit
load this new self extracting archive into the cameyo and save the new package one of these should work, the archive works
it will take a wile for explorer to show the change but if you go into the properties window it will show there
