I'm running Windows 7 32bit. I have downloaded the latest Cameyo 2.0.829 but am unable to run the program.
As soon as I try starting the exe I am notified:
Cameyo client has stopped working.
Problem details are:
Description: Stopped working
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: cameyomenu.exe Problem Signature 02: 1.0.0.0 Problem Signature 03: 4fd69b5d Problem Signature 04: System.Configuration Problem Signature 05: 2.0.0.0 Problem Signature 06: 4ca2ba8c Problem Signature 07: 9d Problem Signature 08: 48 Problem Signature 09: IOIBMURHYNRXKW0ZXKYRVFN0BOYYUFOW OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 3081
I have tried running Cameyo -uninstall and fresh reboot of PC but no change.
Are you sure you looked in HKEY_CURRENT_USER? You should at the very least see there "Cameyo" key. Anyway, there's been a recent bugfix, please try redownloading the version on the website today and let me know if this still happens?
I just re-downloaded the new version and still the same error (Problem signature 03 has changed but I don't know what that means): Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: cameyomenu.exe Problem Signature 02: 1.0.0.0 Problem Signature 03: 4fe75ace Problem Signature 04: System.Configuration Problem Signature 05: 2.0.0.0 Problem Signature 06: 4ca2ba8c Problem Signature 07: 9d Problem Signature 08: 48 Problem Signature 09: IOIBMURHYNRXKW0ZXKYRVFN0BOYYUFOW OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 3081
I definitely don't have the HKCY\Software\Cameyo key. It does create the HKCU\Software\VOS key.
When I run the exe I get the splash screen: "Because software should be used not installed" and then the crash happens, this splash screen then eventuallu goes away and am left with a larger blank white window.
Seems like it is crashing before fully installed.
The computer is on a domain and I am a local administrator of the computer. (Also trying with 'run as administrator' does not change the issue)
Have managed to do a quick bt more testing and if I copy the cameyo folder from: C:\Users\PaulM\AppData\Roaming\VOS\Cameyo\%Program Files%\Cameyo to c:\program files\ and then manually run CameyoMenu.exe it works fine.
I then tried a quick ghost capture which seemed like it may work but need to test further.
I had this idea from this thread: http://cameyo.activeboard.com/t48751435/cameyo-not-starting-up-error/
I guess if I only need to do this on the machine I use for capturing apps and the deployed apps work fine then I can handle this. Obviously I lose the seamless drop box integration etc and the Cameyo library but maybe I can work around it.
