Changing package icon via command-line in captured package
Permalink

Hi,

I started evaluating Cameyo. If I capture our app, the captured package uses a wrong icon. Our installer creates several start menu and desktop shortcuts. I know that it's possible to change the icon via the package editor GUI. However, we need to automate package capturing in order to fit it into our CI process.

Is there a way to change the package icon using cameyo's command line or in another scriptable way?

Thanks

Martin

Yes, it is possible with Cameyo's Command-Line Builder.  Please see the following for more information:

XML-based package building

XML reference

Thanks for the reply. However, if I understand the command-line builder correctly, it is an alternative to capturing an existing setup.

I would prefer to capture our existing installer. Our setup not only copies a lot of files, but also registers many COM objects. Creating an Cameyo XML package description would not be trivial.

Our installer creates start menu shortcuts for three executables, the cameyo package icon uses one of these executable icons as package icon However, not the one I would like to use.

Does your package start a specific command when run, or is the user presented with a menu of items from which to choose?
