I notice that there is no font smoothing / antialiasing on text. Is there a setting to enable this?

thanks in advance!

Please post a screen shot so that we can understand exactly what you are referring to.

it only happens when hosting my own server - on the cameyo public server (Saturn) the text is anti-aliased.

I guess it's a server setting somewhere, I've tried changing some RDS settings in my cameyo host server (WS2012) but it doesn't seem to have an effect.

i've attached two screenshots, one is my server (with jagged text) and the other is the cameyo public server (with anti-aliased text).

Perhaps it automatically adjusts based on connectivity and server activity.  We have seen examples of both of your screen shots on the same public server within minutes of each other.

Is there a Guacamole or RDP server setting I could tweak for this?

Sorry, we don't know of any specific RDP / RDS setting to improve the appearance of fonts.

That's a shame - is there any plan to implement this in future?

No, there are no plans at this time.

I found a solution to this:

- Log into your Cameyo Play Server remote desktop
- Download and install a program called ClearTypeSwitch karpolan.com/software/cleartype-switch/
- Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Task Scheduler
- Select "Create Task..."
- General tab -> give the new task a name and check "Run with highest privileges" and "Hidden"
- I also set the user/group to 'Remote Desktop Users' group
- Create two triggers "On connection to user session" and "At log on"
- Actions -> New... -> browse to where you installed ClearTypeSwitch, e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\ClearType Switch\ClearTypeSwitch.exe"
- Under 'Add arguments' type s+ c+
- Click "Ok"

Bear in mind that this will mean clients will use more network bandwidth.
