Microsoft Power Point Viewer is not working with Cameo
Permalink

Hi,

I want to use Microsoft Power Point viewer using Cameyo. The latest version is available on microsoft website. I tried to capture installation but failed.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. And If it works, I also buy a premium version of Cameyo.

Thanks everyone

By latest version of Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer, are you referring to this?  If not, please provide a link.

You said that you tried to capture installation but failed.  What happened exactly?

Did you use a clean virtual machine?  What OS did you use to build the package and what is the target OS?  Was the PowerPoint Viewer package built?  Did you receive an error?

Case 1: I opened the Cameyo. Clicked capture an installation. It scanned current system. Then I Installed Power point viewer, then Clicked Finish Installation, After than Cameyo Just Struck on post installation scanning. After a very long time, I just kill the threat.

Case 2: I opend Cameyo. Clicked capture an Installation> It scanned current system. Then I installed Two Software. 1- My own project, 2- Microsoft Power point viewer. After I clicked Finish Installation. Then Cameyo only detected my own project and it didn't detected MS Power point viewer.

It sounds as if you are not using a clean virtual machine.  For best practice, packaging should be done on a system that has only the OS installed, i.e. no software that has ever been installed.

Regarding Case 2, had you uninstalled PowerPoint Viewer before performing the pre-installation snapshot?

What OS are you using?

I tried on my friends pc with windows seven. That was not a virtual machine. That windows currently running is used by this. Anyways, I will install the windows using vmware and will try again. Then I will tell you.

Hi,

I installed Fresh Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit in Vmware Workstation. Then I opened Cameyo and Took Initial Snapshot of system. Then I installed Microsoft Power Point viewer. It installed successfully in windows 7 pro. Then I Clicked Install Done and Cameyo Placed the app in My documents.

But When I am running the app in my documents it is giving the following error. I am attaching the snapshot of the error details

After when I clicked ok. A second error appeared. I also attached the snapshot of that error windows

Open your package with Package Editor and change Startup to %Program Files (x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office14\PPTVIEW.EXE.  Save and try running the package again.  You can find information on editing a package here.

Hi,

I fixed the above problem by first uninstalling microsoft vc++ 2008 redistributable package and then capturing the installation by installing both vc++ 2008 redist and MS PPT Viewer.

Now I found that Cameyo.exe file is not running in windows 10 as I moved the file from windows 7 to windows 10.

I am attaching the sanpshot.

Please upload your package to a file-sharing site.  We generally suggest WeTransfer because it is easy for both parties.  Email to yourself and post the URL.

The missing ACTIVEDS.dll message is unrelated to Cameyo.  Perhaps something on your system is corrupt.

Actually I have latest Windows 10 Anniversary update. My system is fully updated and I don't think so whether something is missing. I will test in a newly installed windows 10 clean virtual machine and I will let you know then.

Thanks
