Hello.

 

I just tried to make my Design Spark 6.0 portable.

Finally DesignSpark PCB Version DesignSpark PCB 6.0.cameyo.exe was created and it works on my computer.

But on another PC (the same OS - Win7) during I'm trying to run DesignSpark PCB Version DesignSpark PCB 6.0.cameyo.exe 

window including error message is displayed:

Failed loading APlace.dll (error 998)

Copying APlace.dll into the same location as  DesignSpark PCB Version DesignSpark PCB 6.0.cameyo.exe doesn't help.

Do someone have any idea how to resolve it ?

Hello Mes Mariusz,

My Cameyo package of DesignSpark PCB 6 launched on Win7 SP1 x64 without error.  Do you receive the Failed loading error when first launching the package, or is it whilst doing something within the software?

If the error comes during use of the software, please advise me step-by-step of what I need to do to reproduce the error.

I tried to do it a few times using different PC's. 

Unfortunately for me trying to open created cameyo package of DesignSpark is always ended this error window: Failed loading APlace.dll (error 998). I tried even latest DesignSpark 6.1 on the current cameyo release (few months later).

I just tried to prepare the newest version of DesignSpark (v7) using latest cameo.

 

But during start always is displayed this message window:

Could someone please help ?

Have you tried running it with -SafeMode or setting virtualization mode to Disk (using the package editor)?

What do you mean saying "Have you tried running it with -SafeMode" ?

Something related to created via cameo executable file? Or some additional options (?) igisting in cameyo ?

Mes Mariusz, please download this package and let me know if you receive the error when running it.  It launched for me on Win7 SP1 x64 and Win8.1 x64.

When I'm trying to open your package I'm getting this.

Please drag my package to the Command Prompt, add a space and "-Remove"

After you press <Enter> and receive a Successful message, do the same with all other DesignSpark packages that have been run on the system.  You can check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VOS to be sure that there are no references to DesignSpark, including any other names you may have given it when you created your own packages, to confirm that the system is completely clean of previous launches of DesignSpark packages.

Finally, try launching my package again.  Are you still receiving the error?

I did follow your suggestion. Data became removed.

But after cameo started again the same 998 error has occured.

Please -Remove again and after receiving Successful message, run from Command Prompt using -SafeMode, e.g. DesignSpark PCB 7.0 by 1277R Data mode AppData.cameyo.exe -SafeMode

Has DesignSpark ever been installed on the system that is giving you the Failed loading APlace.dll error?

Yes, for a short period time, then it was decided it needs to be uninstalled.

I tried installing both versions 6 and 7, uninstalling them both, and running the package.  It launched without error.

What security software do you have installed?  Please advise all types, e.g. suites, anti-virus, firewall, anti-malware, HIPS, etc.

Any idea why on other PC APlace.dll error 998 apears while on PC where cameo package was done everythink works ok?
