PyMca fails to run due to MSVCR90.dll
Permalink

I am attempting to virtualize http://pymca.sourceforge.net/ ... However, when I do the packager, and then try and run pymca - it errors out on trying to access the Microsoft Visual C DLL with R6034 an application has attempted to load the C Runtime Library incorrectly.

Any ideas?

Hello Jmp242,

1. Did you build your package on a clean virtual machine?
2. Do you get the error on the same system on which you packaged PyMca?

And also: what version of Cameyo did you use?

I tried with the VM which is our base image - I've packaged multiple other programs successfully. I used 2.5.1130. I will have to try again when I can do a base Win7 install, but I won't have time for that in the near future. Are you able to test with the free / OSS Sourceforge download?

Yes, I tested yesterday and all ten shortcuts launched without error.

Please run your package with -Troubleshoot parameter and email log to cameyo at cameyo.com.  Documentation here.

I had a simmilar problem with Open Office:

(First loading failed due to irregular using of MSVCR90.dll, afterwards it would run ok though)

Solved it by:

1. Installing the runtimes on the virtual machine (this didn´t solve the problem, I guess it is not necessary, but I will try out)

2. Editing the package:  Virtualization: Disc Mode

The 2. step solved the problem for me.

You are right. I just got it working by using a clean Win 7 SP1 Enterprise OS to package on. I guess I'll have to use this VM in the future...

Thanks - this is solved.
