Access to USB-Storrage / recognition
Permalink

Hello,

I've tryed to virtualize a Garmin Express-Installation (Updatetool for a Navi). Unfortunatly it seems that the virtulized package can not see the conected device (via USB as a USB-Storrage).

I've play a little bit with the settings (full access), but it seems to bring no solution.

Is there a hint to get the virtulized package access to the usb-storrage drives of the Navi?

Thanks, and best regards,

SP

Hello Solarplexus,

1. Can you see the device as USB storage in Windows Explorer, i.e. outside the virtualized environment?

2. Is this a standalone device that gets connected to a computer only for updating and possibly charging?

Hello Mule,

as fahr as I can expect the USB-Drive is visible in the Explorer (started from the properties-cmd), and also on the Host-system. The Device is a standard Garmin-Nüvi, which would be charged and conected as a standard USB-Storrage-drive.

I'm not really sure how the Garmin Express trys to recognize the drive - via Registry, or scanning all drives...

Dirk
