Changing AppID causes strange behaviour
Permalink

When I change the AppID with PacketEditor and save the changes the virtual app won't run anymore.

It seems that when changing the AppID some registration keys aren't there anymore.

Far stranger is that after changing the AppID all registrations were done in the "real" environment (checked it with the regedit under Win7)

When i change the AppID back to the original name and save the changes everything runs fine again and no registrations in the "real" environment are done.

Any ideas?

What is your app? Could you provide the name of it?

The app is called DataView32, it's a self developed VB6 application. Nothing special about. It just uses some common DLL's and OCX's.

Are the registry changes made under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VOS\, or are they made elsewhere?

Please change AppID back to the name that caused the strange behavior.  After checking which keys are added or changed, please try -Remove parameter and see if--

1. registry additions are removed
2. launching the virtualized application runs
