Creating a package using files from a folder
Permalink

Hi all,

I downloaded Chromium Browser and it comes without an installer. All files are in a zipped folder, after I extract it, I click the chrome.exe and I can use Chromium Browser. I need your advice on creating an standalone exe using the files from a folder.

Of course the folder has all the exe's and dll's etc.

Cheers

If I understand correctly you want to create a package using cameyo with the files and folders of an application.
The instructions are below and there is also a video here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAsESO_WvOQ

  1. Start the package editor
  2. Click edit package
  3. Click cancel.
  4. Choose file (top left menu), choose new virtual package
  5. Go to the files tab
  6. Click the "+"  sign to add the necessary files or folder (in this case the folder where you have all the files above)
  7. Click the general tab
  8. Click change on the right side
  9. Specify the exe file that is supposed to open when you star the app, (you can choose the "specific commad" option and click the folder and browse for it)
  10. Save the package
  11. Done biggrin

Hi there, I used your instructions and saw the video too. It worked for me the first time. But now, I am doing the same thing as you suggested and using the same files that worked for me the last and yet I am getting an error when executing the app. See the screenshot Thanks for your help. Cheers

I found the answer below in another post located here http://cameyo.activeboard.com/t48751435/cameyo-not-starting-up-error/  where they describe the same issue. I hope it helps. smile

I had your same problem (running Win 7 64bit, comodo internet security) , but I've recently found the solution:

1. Open cameyo app proprieties and check the "run as admin" box

2. Right-click on anyone cameyo virtualized app that is not working and click on "explore on disk" option

3. Now you've found the app on explorer, open the virtualized app proprieties and check the "run as admin" box

4. Double-click on the app and everything should work fine!!!

P.S.: Don't set the "run in compatibility mode" option or it wouldn't work.
